A Promise Of Spring

Carpet of green on the gentle hill,

Scattering of gold of the daffodils,

Birds on a limb cheerfully sing,

A promise of spring.

Cows grazing on blades of grass,

Sun peaks through as clouds pass,

Off in the distance the church bell rings,

A promise of spring.

Trees covered with flowers,

Touched with drops from the showers,

Along with the daffodils bring,

A promise of spring.

Soon will come the laughter of glee,

On a limb of the gnarly old tree,

Hangs an old wooden swing,

A promise of spring.

Up above an eagle in flight,

Looking down at this incredible sight,

Nothing is as amazing as,

A promise of spring.
